Become a home health aide or a certified nursing assistant at FHCA Orlando

Do you want to become a home health aide or a certified nursing assistant? Look no further! These programs are for you. The Nursing Assistant (NA) / Home Health Aide (HHA) programs, at FHCA Orlando, are designed for those who benefit from healthcare education and training at the same time they enjoy helping others. These programs cover training to help from infants to the elderly, with a wide range of activities aimed at maintaining basic care and attention to patients with different health needs. Generally, the assistant works under the supervision of Registered Nurses (RN) and, sometimes, to the doctors themselves. At the end of the course, you will be able to start working in the field of health.

The United States Department of Labor estimates that nursing assistants and home health aide jobs increase faster than other occupations due to the growth of the elderly population. The expansion in demand for health services should lead to greater job opportunities in other institutions, such as hospitals and clinics.

These two are the professions in medicine that have the greatest daily impact on the patient, making a great difference in their life during the caring stage. In addition, you will feel great personal satisfaction when helping patients with needs while doing your part to create a better community and improving the economic benefits for you and your family.

Completing this program at FHCA Orlando prepares the student for employment certification as a Nursing Assistant in accordance with Chapter 82-163 of the Florida Statutes. This course is taught by registered nurses.

In our CNA course, the student will acquire the knowledge to provide the best quality care and assistance, in a dynamic and pleasant atmosphere. You will be able to challenge the exam and get certified in less than 3 months!

All applicants must be 17 years old. If the applicant is under 18 years old, the student Enrolment Agreement must be approved and signed by her/his parent or guardian.

Content includes, but is not limited to, interpersonal skills, medical terminology, ethical and legal responsibilities, safe and efficient work, gerontology, nutrition, health, and safety, including Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and training in job searching.

This program focuses on general transferable skills and emphasizes the understanding and demonstration of the following elements of the healthcare industry: planning, administration, finance, technical and production skills, the underlying principles of technology, work, community and health problems, safety and environmental issues.
