About the EKG program at FHCA

This program aims to teach the student the necessary knowledge and Clinical training as an Electrocardiograph Aide, EKG Technician, Cardiovascular Technologist, and Technician, and an overview of human anatomy and physiology emphasizing cardiac and vascular systems. The students will be prepared to take the national certification exam for CET (Certified EKG Technician).

Duration of the EKG program

Our EKG program typically takes 4 weeks for classes from Monday through Friday, with class hours from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Saturday classes extend the program to 9 weeks, with class hours from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Requirements for the EKG program in Orlando

This program requires a $200 down payment at the moment of enrollment.

Deposit: The deposit for our phlebotomy program is $200, due at the moment of enrollment

Weekly Payments: You choose your payment day. Whether you prefer paying each Monday or if Fridays are more convenient, we'll accommodate you!

  • Monday-Friday: The rate for our EKG program is 5 payments of $110
  • Saturdays: The rate for our EKG program is 10 payments of $55

Bi-weekly Payments: We understand there are some businesses in which you get paid bi-weekly, or if it simply suits your economy better, we'll work it out for you!

  • Monday-Friday: The bi-weekly rate for our EKG program is 2 payments of $275
  • Saturdays: The bi-weekly rate for our EKG program is 5 payments of $110

1What is the difference between an EKG and a Telemetry technician?
Both are similar but not the same. Telemetry is a general form of monitoring, while EKG is more specific. All EKG tests are telemetry tests, but not the other way around. There is also a difference in how the data is reported.
2Do you perform actual EKG tests in class?
Yes! You do get to practice with a real EKG machine but please bear in mind that any reading done during class should not be used as a medical diagnosis. If you have any questions or concerns about your results, please consult your GP.
